Annie Slack

Annie Slack is enchanted by the possibilities by which metal can be formed. Her jewellery is characterized not by a trend but by the methods in which the work is made.

Her work is rooted in an ongoing exploration of materials and form; be it experimenting with texture and surface in cast metals, drawing simple familiar shapes in wire or creating structural strength in thin sheet by crushing and folding. She strives to work with subtlety, originality and with respect to the fine metals that she uses.

Annie’s practice began in 2003 when she graduated from Camberwell College of Art, London with a first class degree in Silversmithing and Metalwork.  She went on to gather further skills working as a product designer and later returned to further her research into materials and processes at London Metropolitan University graduating in 2010 with a Masters with Distinction in Silversmithing.   She works as a silversmith and designer from her studio in the East Sussex town of Lewes developing limited edition collections working on the private public commissions.
