The Great Mosque, Cordoba
$500.00
Over 800 arches create a mesmerising effect through their simple patterning and repetition. the original building started as a church; was splendidly overbuilt as a mosque and is now a church again. The architecture carries Roman, Spanish, Moorish and Arabic influences yet it all coheres wonderfully.

From the movies of Almodovar and Brunel, to the paintings of Velasquez and El Greco, to the architecture of Gaudi, the wit of Cevantes and the magical wonder of St John of the Cross, I have an abiding affection for things Spanish.
