The patterns in this photograph emerged after a new coating of snow and were taken straight-on, without any major ridgeline breaking the flow of the unrelenting mountain face. This image is deliberately abstract with the ridges and gullies sometimes inverting in the looking. Composing this kind of image becomes a matter of finding some semblance of overall structure in the whirl of detail.
Taken on Asahi Pentax 645. 100 ASA film. Shutter speed 500th/sec.
