There is a strong sense of contrasts in this image with the fresh fall of snow on the dark mountains and the storm rapidly filling in from the south, framed above by a clear blue sky. However, what really lifts the image is the strange circular cloud hovering incongruously like a giant yellow chrysanthemum flower behind the middle peak. It creates a type of surrealism I strongly value in photographs.
