Lake Hauroko

Last century, the 'modernist' movement in art made a virtue of the flat two-dimensional space of the picture plane. To achieve the same in photography I seek out curtains of leaves and hope the almost abstract patterning will set up its own pulse before the viewer. Such an image requires an overcast or raining day to get the necessary colour saturation.

Taken on Asahi Pentax 6/7. 75mm lens. 100 ASA Ektachrome film. Aperture F16.
