NIGHT WAVE, ROTE ISLAND
To get the earliest waves before other surfers arrive we set out to the reef in the early morning dark. A big set of waves passes just beyond our small boat. The lip of the wave feathers like a delicate lace just moments before it crashes into a powerful break. An epiphany caught in the darkness.
