Eclipse of the Moon

$1,400.00

On a trip to the Southern Lakes District to photograph the full moon rising over the Remarkables in winter, there occurred a solar eclipse of the moon. I took a photo every few minutes throughout the eclipse and Photoshopped them into a line so the moon slowly seems to heat up. I used a sturdy tripod, a telephoto lens, and allowed the auto-exposure metering on the camera to decide the exposure. I'm stunned a camera can read so accurately the reflected light from a body as distant as the moon.

Taken on Asahi Pentax 6/7, 400mm lens. 100 ASA Ektachrome film. Aperture F2.8.
