Autumn colours in Central Otago are always exuberant. Such an abundance of colour - almost mesmerising in its intensity - allows me to create a colour field picture. I've always loved the work of the post-war New York abstract expressionist colour field painters such as Mark Rothko. This is my New Zealand Rothko!
