One mountain points along to the other and two lines of foreground cloud parallel a distant line of cloud around Mt Ruapehu. All the horizontal lines of cloud and morning light in the sky are broken by the symmetrical uplift of Mt Ngauruhoe. I love the moment just before the morning sun explodes across the snow and cloud, setting it all alight. Here there is just smouldering anticipation.
