Kapiti Island, off the Southwest coast of the North Island, is one of New Zealand's biodiversity gems - a pest-free island where some of New Zealand's rarest birds such as the little spotted kiwi and North Island kaka thrive.

Its wave like ridge line hovers above the wild ocean on a stormy westerly evening. A study of yellows on metal dark brooding blues.
