Awaroa Bay in Abel Tasman National Park is renowned for its golden sands. Just a moment before they blaze into their intense yellow I caught different colours as the sun was about to come over the headland. I like the long, crinkled ridgeline of the hills being echoed in reverse by the yellow-pink lighting of the ragged cloud formation. It's a silhouette shot but there is plenty of detail in the still dark sands of the foreground, which says a lot for the qualities of the film I used.

Taken on Asahi Pentax 6/7. 75mm lens. 100 ASA. Ektachrome film. Aperture F22.
