One of my more meditative pictures, capturing a stillness where the sky and sea seem to contend equally and reflect each other. The darkness of the near ocean gives a solid base to the composition and the sand bar cuts a mid line across the picture, giving even more prominence to the simple binary division of sea and sky. I love the blues and yellows in the sky; they feel as if they came straight from a painting by Giovanni Bellini, a Venetian artist!
