Sometimes a photo takes itself. Here the great reaching arm of the curving foreground branch swirls through the frame, seemingly detached from the same tree on the left. There is a delicate tonal interplay between the soft green leaves and the reticent browns of the background kanuka and rimu trees, and this creates a naturally pared down palette of colour, which compliments the dominant flourish of the white branches.
