Footfalls features a series of paintings which lead the viewer through an imagined house. Short stories accompany each work, and from the first room with an open door leading you through to the next, they gradually reveal more about the people who may have lived there. It is ultimately an uplifting book about family, love and secrets.
I'm a full-time artist living and working in Nelson, New Zealand. After a lifetime as a keen amateur photographer, I now use my library of images as a starting point for paintings where realistic detail meets memory and imagination.
