A broad ridge rises to almost 2200 metres above Lochnager (out of shot to the right) and Snowy Creek (in the headwaters of the Dart Valley, upper left) in the Richardson Mountains. Photographed here during an early winter snowfall, the ridge forms the boundary between Mount Aspiring National Park and the Upper Shotover Conservation Area, which adjoins Mount Aspiring National Park between Lake Wanaka and Lake Wakatipu.
