It was the artist David Hockney who made an obsessive study of swimming pool reflections that really drew my attention to the delightful dreamy effects of such looking. This image was taken late one evening poolside in Costa Rica when the bats had just started to come out and zigzag above the water. The strange blue creates a slightly melancholic feel.
